Hundreds of boats pass through the Chiquita lock daily!

Once they remove this it will really open that up for better navigation and quicker access from SW Cape Coral properties to the Gulf of Mexico.

The Chiquita Boat Lock has been providing Gulf access from Camelot Canal & Southwest Spreader Waterway since the early 1980’s into the ICW via the Caloosahatchee River and is located approximately 2.75 statute miles from the Sanibel Causeway Bridge. This boat lock is operated by the Marine Services Division of the Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department to help manage boat traffic and water levels.

Thanks to some diligence it looks like Chiquita boat lock removal is getting closer in SW Cape Coral and will take about 8 weeks in total to demolish. We Just await the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to order demolition.
